JAX0003 - 289FIA bodywork After two 427 body cars I decided to do a small block car. This was the most intense build thus far. I found this car in an airplane hanger in Eloy AZ. This is a HI TECH Motorsports kit. HI Tech made the most accurate car in the industry before going out of business. I'd say its the most period correct car out there next to a real one. Just like a real car it has: 3" round tube chassie, six pin drive hubs with trigo FIA wheels, transverse leaf springs with original cobra up-rights, IRS center housing, male/female half shafts, solid cobra rotors, a-arms, fiberglass footbox's and trunk tray, FIA bodywork. The drive train has a stroked 347cu. with 450hp on tap, Top Loader box, hurst shifter, and Hoosier race rubber. I can say when you start this car up you must put on your game face. It's my most feared, loud, scary, ignorant build I have ever driven. Alex Baynard of Alex's Exhaust assembled the side pipes and fabricated a set of 3" drag pipes. "You got ear plugs?" I sold this car to Alan Lewenthal of Marquis Auto Restorations. Alan's shop restores classic, muscle, vintage, and one of my personal favorates the solid axle corvette. Last time I saw 0003 it was resting in the inflated bubble at his shop to protect it from prying hands, dust, drafts, sounds, eyes, lazer beams, etc... you know how us car guys are!!!
